It helps to bring more energy and circulation to the ligaments,tendons and joints by applying light weights to help open the body more and it's a very meditative practice. This class gives you a complete experience of moving gently into postures, while practicing full yogic breath work (pranayama) to further relax the mind, body and spirit. The instructor emphasizes alignment to prevent injuries as well as to help individuals recover from injuries or misalignment you may be experiencing in your postures. The class incorporates many yogic principles (observation of body sensations, stilling the mind within the posture, focused concentration and meditation). The class is suitable for all levels.
This class is a combination / hybrid class. The yang portion of the class with be a gentle flow, the other half of the class will be a yin-style practice, holding the postures for extended periods of time to open ligaments and tendons. This class is suitable for all levels.
